Indians gave up some silver after they gave me their 2 cents worth

I got back to IH park finally. They just keep poppin'! What still amazes me is the volume of older IHs and wheats.
This time 15 Ihs, 28 wheats (19 of them pre-1920), 4 buffalos (incl a 1919), 3 mercs (36D, 44, 45) and a surprise 2 cent pc 1864.
Two buttons: one is an eagle two pc button and below the eagle is "EXCELSIOR" (West point?). The other is a domed two pc (squashed) marked on the back
"HORSTMANN PHILADELPHIA". Also 1/2 of some kind of Yale token.
The IH dates: 1863 fattie, 1868, 1871, 1880, 1884, 1889, 1892 (2), 1893 (2), 1901 (2), 1902 (3).
My cent tally so far is 64 IHs and 94 wheats of which 56 are pre-1920 (incl 3 1909s)
Thanks for sharing (the last photo is of my daughter Dana and my grandson Aiden on his 2nd b'day)

The volume of IH's you are finding blows me away.

Nice job.

Me too Rich. I can't believe there are so many there. Silver is a bit scarce considering, but it's a fun spot.
The topsoil is 7-8 inches with sand underneath - the coins are all in the topsoil.

Awesome total Bruce. I'm happy that I got a couple of IH's this year. Great looking kids. Keep up the good work my friend.

... of those older IHs. There's gotta be a half-dime or shield nickels, maybe a silver or copper-nickel 3-cent mixed in there somewhere...

Good luck!

Absolutely Onemore. I found one barber quarter, four barber dimes and a few more mercs out of there. I just know there's more older silver in there and I've only
"skimmed" about 50% of the park. After I skim the rest, I'll go back more carefully.

You made some really great finds, looks as though you've found some great hunting ground...Great looking family as well.

Nice finds and an awesome IH to Wheaties ratio. Neat relics too - I always thought excelsior was connected to New York state but I don't know much about buttons. Great picture of your daughter and grandson. He looks just like my grand nephew who just turned 3. HH
