Indian head

New member
Went out for three hours this morning. Found a dozen coins . Mostly new but got ta 1953 d, 1957 d wheat and an Indian head. I really screwed the indian head up. The ground was hard , the coin wasnt pinpointed well and I thougjht it was going to be a zinc so wasnt being careful. I scratched it big time on the reverse side. Nice coin otherwise. Used a Vaq with stock coil in an old yard. Coin was three to four inches down.

Wow, that Indian Head is in really great condition.

Too bad you nicked it.:(

Scratching it is easy to do, especially after digging tons of shallow clad. I dug a 1894 barber quarter at 3 inches thinking it was another clad. Luckily I managed not to scratch it. I am a lot more careful now.

Thats a beuty, I share your sorrow for scratching it , I also did that on a 1905 barber quarter after digging 40 lead slugs in the farm field i ASSUMED it was another , and took a nice chunk of silver off the liberty head , man was i bummed out ,

It's a small world. My first IH was a 1906 and I scratched it.

See what you said. The coin was only 3 to 4" down.. Now why do you need an XP DUSE to find the good stuff. That Vaquero is a supper man... KEN
