Indian head at new site

Checked out a new site today.

Second target was this 1885 Indian head penny.

Third target was this? Anyone know what this is? Seems like I've seen something like it before.

There's a lot of ground to cover at this new site. And a lot of junk. I was more on an exploration mission today and left after a while to try to find two other sites I had been researching. I was unable to find any evidence of the other two sites, but I'll definitely be coming back to this new place and trying to make some progress before the weeds grow up.

Seems like everything I'm finding this year is from the 1800s and I'm okay with that. Hopefully it can keep going and I can throw a little silver into the mix. :-D

Gotta love them Indians and your's in in pretty good shape. My guess on the second find would be harness tack but that's just a guess.

Definitely love the Indian heads! And for my first two coins of the year to be an 1883 and an 1885 is awesome in my opinion. I had trouble finding even wheat pennies last year.

You're probably right on the other thing. I could imagine a leather strap going through the smaller oval, and then whatever the bigger oval hooks to.

Your 3rd target is identical to the one I found at a farm years ago. Still have it but I don't know what it is.
