Indian Attack!

Yesterday, I met a real sociable gentleman, during a visit to a body shop in North Chelmsford, MA. Bill has a nice small collection here. You are viewing one of two Indians, Bill owns. This one is a 1939 Chief. The seat has been modified by the previous owner. He was very tall, and an Engineer. Did a great job. This year, was the last year with open fenders, the following year , 1940' Indian "Skirted" the fenders. Note the Suicide Shifter on the side!
Indian was the first Motorcycle Manufactuors , located in Springfield Ma.

They are much in demand and commands a high price when you find one. The Suicide Shifter was not good, contributed to lots of accidents. Ron, these are great pictures. Kelley (Texas) :)
