Last year with my MXT I only dug coin signals that bounced within the range for 1 type of coin. I may have been influenced by those saying if it bounces alot, it's trash. These year I am digging bigger bounces, & getting coins 3"-4" deep that I left behind. I got a clad dime 4" deep (it read 6" deep) that bounced from zinc cent to screwcap. Then 2 feet away I get a 1951-D wheat cent at 4" (it read 6" deep). It bounced even more, with some sweeps going down into pulltab range, but mostly zinc ID. So I guess I'll dig those that average above pulltab in several sweeps, & those IDs averaging about 18-20 for nickels. Using the bigger DD coil as ground here pretty mineralized. I know I'll still miss gold, but digging tens of thousands of pulltabs not fun for me. HH, George (MN)

In your mind, picture a 20' X 20' square in the area
where your hunting. Try digging everything that is
from a nickel up in the relic mode. See what you
come up with. I don't coin hunt much, but in the
relic mode, everything thing that isn't iron,I
usually dig, trust me, it's rewarding.
Or try this, set your disc. at it's highest that
you use. Go over the area thoroughly, then after
that, drop the disc. 1 notch. Dig again. Continue
to do that. Even if you have to stop to a later time, when you come back, you'll know where to set
your machine to start at. I think you'll be surpised
at the things you find and the depth at which you
find them. Of course, "your mileage may vary"
Best to you and keep us informed as to what you
find. Richardntn

Richard would that be anything above foil in the relic mode?
