In your Opinion...What coil size/frequency is best for relic/coin detecting?

Well....the subject basically says it all. I have a new X70 and while I'd love to gold nugget hunt every day, I live in South Central Ohio, so that's not a reasonable goal. Therefore; I intend to spend a lot of time relic/coin/get lucky and find a million dollars in gold bullion buried under an apple tree somewhere :) With the special at KellyCo I got the 5x10 dd 18.75kHz and the standard 9" mid frequency. SInce I got so many freebies with the detector, I went ahead and got the 6" 18.75kHz DD as well, but now I am wondering if anyone thinks I should get a different coil to add to my relic/coin detecting. I appreciate any input. I can afford to buy another coil right now, but I'm not so wealthy that I'm willing to buy a coil I might use once in a hundred times..so....look at it from the perspective that you can afford another, but do I really need another for any reason, and what reason might that be. Thanks ahead for your responses!!!

The New Guy. or Dave will do :)

Honestly, the coils you already have will accomplish what you are wanting to do. Well, all of it except maybe that gold under the apple tree. Much of whether or not a coil is "best" for you will depend on the soil conditions where you hunt. And, the amount of trash in those sites. To help determine whether or not you would benefit from a DD coil design, when you turn on your X-70 at one of your favorite sites, what do you get for a ground balance indication, when you ground balance properly? Do you hunt wide open areas or modern parks and yards? If they are wide open spaces, do they have lots of scrap iron? Let us know and we can give you some opinions, based on what works for us.
