My wife belongs the the historical society here in the township. One the I have noticed is that in the 1800s and early 1900s when people would have a picture taken, they liked to have it taken in front of thier house, I guess they wanted to show what a fine house they had. The picture sessions took a long time because of the cameras they had back then.
