In the market for an underwater detector

Hey guys. Love reading about your finds. I'm in the market for an underwater detector and have been reading alot about the Excaliburs. Just wondering how those who have them like them. I'm kind of partial to the Excalibur only because I'm a scuba diver as well and want something if I want to take the units deeper than waist deep. Looking for any comments on the Excalibur or any other units. I would like to hunt freshwater ponds and river areas where everyone swims(I know tons of spots). Would like to hunt the salt water beaches as well. Thanks.

When I get to an area where I can water hunt (TVA wont allow metal detecting in THEIR water), the Excalibur will be what I get unless something obviously better comes along. But I am something of a Minelab (female that sells her services)......

I love my Excalibur, it finds me lots of gold, no problems with them, you won't regret it if you buy one. Good luck finding one second hand, they are hard to get...... Hope you're finding gold soon :)

I would stay away from buying a used Excal..out of warranty they are expensive to have repaired. Shop around the Sponsors...I got quoted a deal so great I can't repeat it.

i love my excal just lear to fix the small stuff ur self like i did and a lot of the guys here

Well...I guess I am the only one with a CZ20 or 21 on here. I will say that they are a great 3 tone machine. Tough as a tank, hip mounts and is a great land machine as well. The 8" coil is the better coil especially if you are water hunting. I have used mine hip mounted for years and not one problem.

The White's Surf P.I. is good to 100ft. It can be hip mounted, and they have a short diver's rod for less than $40.00.
