In the first two years what has broken? Repair costs?

This February it will be two years since purchasing my E-Trac and X-1 probe. This set up has been fantastic and I have enjoyed every second of it...well almost every second. In this time I have managed well over $1,000 in clad, 93 silver coins and over 400 wheat pennies.

Repairs:
-Bad 11in DD coil eleven months in. Faulty wiring. Replaced for free minus shipping costs.

-Wiring went bad in my X-1 probe 18 months in. $30 in shipping both ways, $75 to repair.



What have you or did you experience in your first two years? Just curious.

3 years - shaft is a bit loose - had to replace a set of coil washers (about $3) - that's it!

3 years and not a repair yet. I have a couple sets of coil washers and a brand new Pro-coil (Kco's coupon deal) just in case. The X-1 I'd like to send in this winter, as I don't think its quite right.

Upper shaft cam lock wore out and left the shaft loose. They sent me a new one ( thanks Brian ) and I replaced it myself. That's it!

Almost 3 years with no problems with E-Trac. Ralph did replace my probe on the X-1 right after I had bought it. No problems with my other Minelab machines. HH

my first and only prob,was the pinpoint botton would not work at all.from my ove use of the botton.so they replaced the board for free,thank GOD,I was running out od warranty.

1.5 years, one problem: false "foil" type readings....they replaced coil connection peice inside the head, totally free under warranty including shipping.

Just the cam-lock. Thought it very nice of Minelab to send me two replacements. Now I have a spare!

The upper shaft camlock metal spacer came out at 3 years. Replaced upper shaft, repaired old shaft and have as a spare. My machine will be 4 years old in January and has been wonderful!

I still pull the ETrac out over the Deus for most silver based hunts unless there is too much iron in the ground, then the Deus beats the ETrac.

Pushing two years and the only thing broke is my wallet (kidding) by buying 3 extra coils. I added the x5, the 8x6, and the 13 ultimate. So far the machine is great.

Cam lock and my speaker. Headphones work fine. I am going to replace the speaker myself.
