In search of Blue Hole(beach)

John 'n' W.Va

A buddy asked me yesterday afternoon if I wanted to help him find Blue hole. He said it was a nice stretch of river and wanted to take some pictures of it. I said as long as I can take my MD. He said fine, he just wanted to get out of the house. We got to the area in about 20 mim.
No MDing here for sure

This place doesn't look so good either.

No beach here.

We found Blue Hole and it had a beach. My buddy was taking pictures and I had dreams of gold. I went over the beach and in the water. 40 mim. of MDing and NOTHING! One cent, lots of melted aluminium and a green rock. The rock is very heavy with a chip in it and purple on the inside. In the land of sandstone and coal this is a strange rock.

We drove on and found some people party-ing on a rock. We freaked them out. My buddy was hesitant, but I walked out on the rock to see if there was anything worth MDing. They reminded me of when I walked into a field of steer. The steer followed me around staring at me. I turned around and went boo and they all ran. Finally one a the group came over and wanted to know why I was carrying such a big knife. I pulled it out of the sheath and said this is my tool for search and sample. He asked if I was an archaeologist. I said no, I am a treasure hunter. I told him I can't understand how you people can get so drunk and not lose anything. After that they all chilled out and everything was fine.

I saw where a few where sitting in the water and I thought," I will be back."

Nice tour, John. Surprising that you dfound nada at the beach. I'm sure the party crowd has lost something, but you might need a scuba rig to find it!
Awesome views, though. Thanks.

Hey big buddy,
These are beautiful pics of a beautifully natural place.
I'm sure the time spent there was worth it even if you got zilch.
That truly is a lovely place.

[quote Uncle Willy]Nice looking spot bud. Did ya see any black sand around there? Looks like a good fishing hole.

The rock around is all sedimentary rock. The only black sand I saw was from the camp fires. No black sand and no gold. I am 3 hours from the nearest gold fields. I enjoy prospecting when I have the chance to go.
As far as fishing goes, it is great. Very under fished. You can catch bass or trout in the same stream. I have some trout in the refrigerator right now. We eat trout 1 or 2 times a week and we don't buy it from a store.
What else I love about the area is I don't have to use insect repellent any more. I have been out a lot since I moved here and have found only one mosquitoes. Sometimes there are biting critters, but they are rare.
