And while there is a digital wonderland going on under the hood of the Sovereign, with it's analog style controls and it's analog-like long drawn out detailed audio, I guess you could call some of us "analog man" in certain ways. Many of us know what kind of magic it's unique traits can really do at long "dead" pounded out public sites. I'm not opposed to digital controls and fancy VDI screens for certain days I hunt, and so I'll grab that machine on that day. But the flip side of the coin is on other days I feel something is lost in translation without the "feel" of the dial between your fingers to tweak things "just right", and without the more "raw" analog-like detailed audio that hasn't been sent through layers of complex processing. It's like the difference between buying a steak in a grocery store and harvesting the animal yourself. There is merit to both on any given day IMO...

Critter,my Sovereign will be around for a while. In the future probably a lot of the Excals will be converted to be better land detectors. Thanks Ron

Yes Ron, despite what other machines come and go in my line up over the next 20 years (God willing), the GT stays. Different days for different moods and detectors, and because the Sovereign is unique among machines (an analog like audio/controls, along with a very special Iron Mask feature that appears to pull coins out of iron extremely well, combined with the performance of a Minelab), it'll find stuff no other machine will on certain days. Different machines, like women, having different strengths and traits that make them unique and special in their own way. Some will do things no other can or will.

Far as the Excal land conversion thing, good idea. Starting a new thread on that in response here...
