I was testing a 22 slug in my tub of dirt, ground balanced at 83 and used a normal lead 22 slug laying flat two tone seems to get the slug better , but then i noticed what i had to do to get the slug in three tone , i noticed that the two tone like a slower sweep and does better , and the three tone does best with a fast sweep and i have noted that it seems the signal is more narrow with three tone , so i think that my be why it may be better in the trash - anyone else notice that .???

Yup. I posted a while back that I got a deep high tone with no numbers. When I swung faster the signal got better and random numbers appeared. Turned out to be a seated half dime.

I looked in the manual, and it says the three tone is faster, - now i know what that means. I do find i need more sensitivity in three tone for best results. This detector really has its basses covered, - Also so super easy to switch from mode to the next , and set them up the way you want . amazing performance on just 4 AA batteries and talk about easy to install the batteries . now I need some of that Global warming to come to minnesota.

These are great results but i have yet to use 3 tone for long periods of time but for now im going too stick with 2 tone and as i get more experience with the Racer i will explorer but thank you for your work on the testing and info guys i knew when i read the reviews on this unit i would love it and i do.
