In case you good folks (and even you not so good folks) haven't noticed, I haven't been on the board lately.

I've been on vacation this week and I have worked my tail off around the house!! I have not had a chance to get on the forum at all...in fact I haven't even had a chance to see what ya'll have been up to before posting this. I have had to try to get everything taken care of...grass cut, vehicle oil changed, etc. because I leave in the morning for a conference in Orange Beach, Alabama!!! The Alabama Association of School Resource Officers (TAASRO) is holding its annual school safety conference at the Orange Beach Civic Center. Last year the classes were held at Live Bait...we ate well!!!:thumbup: Fresh seafood every day is habit forming  I am taking my Tiger Shark with me, even though I haven't had much success in the past (well a good many coins, but no jewelry at all). Ok the point to this whole ramble was to let ya'll know I won't be able to check out the forum or post until after Friday (at least I don't think I will be able to). So I hope you are all well and getting out hunting and having some success with finding!! I did go water detecting at Oak Mountain State Park and I recovered a lot of coins and what looks and feels like a gold earring, but there are no markings on it. There are a lot of Hispanics that swim at Oak Mountain and a good many blacks and some whites (I now know what it feels like to be a minority due to all the Hispanics there). Oh yeah, and there are still a few Cajuns staying in the cabins at the Park from Katrina. There I go rambling again, the point was the Mexicans wear a lot of gold jewelry, but it isn't all marked with a 10k or 14k, etc. So, at this point I can't swear I have found my first gold of the year!! There were a few non-metallic finds as well. I spotted the colorful bead bracelet and the wrestler action figure. The bracelet is NOT sterling silver :cry:. It is from the group that is promoting the race for the cure for breast cancer. I actually went detecting Sunday afternoon, but had to wait until the crowd thinned out and by then it was getting close to leaving time. A little black girl told me she lost her bracelet and I found it on Tuesday morning when I went back over there. I'll take it with me the next time I go and try to give it back to her...I'm not sure I will recognize her, but I feel sure she will recognize me since she came over to me to ask if I had found her bracelet. I found a set of keys and turned them in to the Rangers. Any way here are a couple of pics of my finds at Oak Mountain.

The first pic is the total of all finds from the Tuesday morning hunt!

The second and third pics are of the possibly gold earring.

The fourth pic is of the Race for the Cure bracelet.

The fifth and final pic is of the heart that is attached to the bracelet. The inscription reads: "Together we can make a difference".

Well, thanks for looking (I know it was long...)! I hope you all have a chance to go hunting and I hope you do some finding as well!!
I'll try to check in on the forum, but I don't think internet was available at the hotel last year!
