Was actually looking in the shops for waterproof cases for digital cameras (I use a Canon PowerShot) this week and pondering about the technicalities of an Ace type one at the same time. Not impossible by any means, Although I was mainly thinking about the costs involved for Garrett to make such a waterproof unit. Then, also this week, a friend gave me a Kodak disposable underwater (down to 15m) film camera too. More pondering. :)

Not sure how well it would perform in salt water but the Ace 150 certainly does very well on the wet sand and shallow water here. I would like to go deeper in the water with it but don't want to risk it - my son wouldn't be pleased either!
Think if I had an underwater Ace model (Ace LW? :) ) like that I'd do more around the rivers and lakes with the kids too. Doesn't have to be a deepwater type like the Garrett PI's, just enough to wade and snorkel with. And naturally use in the rain too. Is that what you are thinking? Or a SCUBA type?

Re. the pic of my son (last year), he had a sprained ankle at that time but really wanted to go in the water, he could only wear one flipper though, so we put a lifejacket on him too. He had a good time going round and round in circles! LOL
Me in the background, looking wet. :)
