IN a headsup test against another machine of

similar initials, made by the same company, but at a higher price, which machine goes deeper after small and large objects, in you personal opinions , the MXT or the other one? Moderator, please don't erase this. I have a lot riding on the answer just usage, no betting). Thanks.

I liked the MXT better for depth and ease of use myself, others may see it the other way around. The MXT if there was a detector hall of fame i am sure it would be there. It is the best Whites I have ever used.

If you are refering to the DFX, it has more bells and whistles and has a bigger learning curve, plus it uses the same coils as the MXT but I don't think it is any better than the MXT in my opinion. HH Dennis in Idaho

No experience with the one, but I LOVE my MXT. It's a very versatile, capable detector. Especially if you invest in several of the optional coils. My two bits.

I have an MXT and my Dad uses a DFX. I would say that they are roughly equal in possible depth. It really does depend on the operator. As someone said, the DFX is a harder machine to master.

I've been doing some test with my MXT vs. my GMT. I have found that the MXT does find small grains of gold just as deep as the GMT. You just have to listen closer, the GMT puts out a stronger signal. MXT has a weaker signal but at 6" deep I can still detect gold. I feel the MT will find small gold just as good as the special gold machines. GMT user for 5 years, MXT user for 1 month.
