Imput On This Coil-Never Seen One-Have You.

On another site there is listed, now sold, a 1200 series, 5x10, elliptical concentric coil..Never seen one and all my Fisher catalogs could not find one listed.
 
Yes there were not many made Bill Ladd had told me about them when I was tring to get one for my 1270. never got one.
 
should have kept it around for the 1270... Oh well.... Great coil to add if you can find one.

I have one on my 1235X. It really is much quieter than the stock 8" coil, works very well close to metal fencing, posts, etc.. and does improve the huntabilty of the machine in trashy ground. There is a small loss of depth against the 8" coil. Not sure how it stacks up to the 5" coil for the 1200 or X series machines since I don't have one of those.

Hey Happy Hour, which machine are you going to use it on?

I would bet it can smoke out the goodies if it works on the 1270as well as mine does on the 1235X. Is it compatible?

What I understand, all 1200 series machines.
 
i had found one of these last year and picked it up.they are hard to find.i was looking for a year before i found one on ebay..payed a little more for it than i would normaly,but again hard to find.so anyways its a 5x10 DD coil..air test about the same as 8" concentric on a 1266x.i only ran it an hour or so last year,so i couldn't tell ya much on performance.althoe i do believe it could be [size=medium]deadly[/size] on this old fisher in some areas.looking forward to using it alot this year:beers:
 
i said above this is a DD coil...i thought it is but reading some other post's i'm not sure..i'm gonna find out tho and check in later.
