Going to Cali soon! Wanted to know what should I take for nugget hunting. Fisher Impulse PI or the CZ-20 ..What would be best for out in the desert?
Thanks

..and can only take 1 of them.. then the CZ20. I was nuggetshooting up in Alaska's Brooks Range (Arctic Circle) with a CZ 6a running in salt mode with the 10.5" coil.. and I matched, or exceeded, what the guys with the Minelab SD2200D's were getting. The ground was sooo nasty that the CZ (in salt mode) and ML PI's could hunt over it. My deepest nugget was 2 oz at about a foot deep; not bad at all. The smallest one it could see was about 3 grains. ..Willy.

are you saying the cz6 is a good nugget machine in very hot groung. How small is three grians, and how deep could you see it.

Well, in salt mode it did just fine over that particular hot ground and it had no problem with the ground in B.C., some of which is probably every bit as bad as what's found in Australia. It would find a 3 grainer at about 1" or so. I think there's something like 480 grains in an ounce. ..Willy.
