Improving battery life...

Seems like the pinpoint uses a lot of juice and matter of fact a pinpointing cutting off would tell me battery power is low. I found this out hunting beaches here digging is easy with a scoop and pinpointed in Discriminate mode...Under the aforementioned conditions bateries really lasted a long time..

I usually don't even nessisarily use the pinpoint pads much myself. Once you have a comfort level with a machine you can pretty much criss cross, or raise the coil a bit to zero right in & cut a good plug. The only thing is by not holding the PP pad you don't get a depth reading. So sometimes I may dig a big plug for something that was only an inch down. But hey, I get good battery life, right?

that I'm not hunting nice lawns & cutting big plugs left & right for no reason I'm more of a relic hunter so if I'm in the woods or a farm field digging big plugs without checking depth it's not a big deal. I do utilize the depth features & I'm alot more careful if I'm in someones yard or a park though....HH, Bill
