Improved pinpointing on the SE pro..

I feel Minelab is listening to feedback from its customers thus the 11" DD coil with modulated VCO pinpointing to improve an excellent detector series.

Do remember when the pinpoint is on its basically all metal and can be influenced by near junk targets so do remember for us that learned the old way not even using pinpoint just doing it in disc just move the coil side to side until you find the middle drag the coil towards you and when the signal goes away the target center should be in the frontal notch of the coil.

Sort of a two edged sword and if one way won't work for a particuliar target try the alternate way..its a win-win situation and besides that the new coil greatly improved the ergonomics of a fine unit.

I happen to be just starting on the Xcal with its new tones and PP. To add to your post Dan you talked about items near affecting the signal response. Some people hunt with the Xcal in PP. Well i tested the SE today in PP. It tracks terribly the closer you get to the wet salt sand the louder it gets. Couldnt detect a target if you wanted to. Anyone that uses the in line probe knows the sound im talking about if you have had it on and in the hole to long. The screen just moves to the iron side much like a VLF would do in the wet salt. The only reason i tried it was to see if you could hunt in PP on a beach with the SE.... answer is no.

Dew I can add, you cant detect at all on explorer se or Etrac-with PP anywhere. when you switch on PP its works OK, but only for some short period after its starts to loose depth and smoothness . something minelab did not perfect hear. but solution is to use Sounds Constant on SE or Sound 1 on etrac. about explorer SE constant I can say it perfect-easily can be used for nugget hunting, etrac I have just week so cant say 100% if its the same.
