Impressive results from Gold county mineralized soil,

Yesterday,

Went up into the Ca. gold country with a friend to relic hunt, The soil here in the high county is highly mineralized yet the T-2 handed the bad ground well operating smooth as can be. Fe3O4 ranged from .3 to 1 mostly in the .3 range area.

Those of you planning on searching bad soil, the T-2 can handle it well.

That's good to hear, Paul. I'm expecting to get my T2 in the next fews days and expect to be giving it a try in a few places between Jackson (2000' elev) and Silver Lake (7000' elev) off Hwy 88.

I hunted some awful dirt at the DIV with mine, FeO3 was the max and phase was in the 80"s I believe. It was almost as bad as you can possibly get. worked good in all metal but like any 2 filter suffered in the disc. mode. ID was useless as well but that is expected too. Thanks for the posting Paul, keep it up.

Hello Jerry,

I'm still burned out from that day up in the gold hills, The heat was already cooking us at 10 am. We were detecting an old 1850's mining town for relics.

In most areas, I couldn't do a proper ground balance in the disc mode due to the abundance of iron in the ground from both square nails and highly mineralized soil. So I just hunted without doing a GB. I tried the all metal mode but with the high amounts of square nails the GB still wouldn't kick in, Further away from this hill the T-2 would GB in the disc mode at .3 Fe3O and that was moving the coil all over the place looking for a clean patch of ground.

The amazing event of the day was we were able to find another mining town which is now a ghost town, Tried to get permission from the land owner but he just wouldn't let us in on his property due to insurance liability reasons. I'll post a picture of the drawing of the old mining town with a current picture I took that day later in the week, Both the 1850 drawing of the town with the mountains in the back ground are the same mountains in the picture taken this Monday. That old ghost town would be loaded with relics and old coins including gold nuggets dropped by the miners.

Thanks for sharing your ground readings with your T-2 Jerry, Every bit helps.

HH, Paul

You'll like the T-2,

I was up near Bear Valley which has very bad mineralized ground, Plus working with a hill loaded with square nails making it worse. However, The t-2 operate well still able to peek into the highly mineralized ground finding conductive targets with square nails in the hole.

Keep us posted with your adventures :)

Hello KCK,

I'm more of a relic hunter when hunting up in the gold hills, Allot of old mining towns up there. Hopefully someday I'll get the opportunity to search a patch of ground with gold nuggets, That sure would be a wonderful event.

Hopefully, Someone someday soon can try the T-2 on gold nugget hunting and share the results.

HH, Paul
