Impressions of Excaliber 2 on Land

Took the Excal to a park I used to pull oldies out of before my land machine was stolen. Did pick up a v-nickel, but you would have to dig more or less every target with the machine. Don't think its a problem as far as breaking anything. Might use it the rest of the season on land and just clean out the park of all junk, as things are real slow here on Lake Erie beaches. Don't think the Excal 2 could replace the Etrac or Explorer for land, but fun to kick around until I buy a land machine. Des in Buffalo

Its not nearly as good as the Sov or Exp just because you cant tweak it. Hey but i find its not as noisy either. It might be durable enough for a park, but for the money id be careful with that coil. Hows the recover off the null? On the beach i seem to be able to move the Xcal faster. The Exp seems to try to id everything where as the Xcal id what it KNOWS is a non disc targets. It reminds me a lot like running the Exp in auto sensitivity.... it has a definite cut off where it stops attempting to id the target. It also seems to really bag on a deep target.

Recovery is great, no problemo, but especially without a depth meter, lots of digging. Will be careful of the coil. I'll keep in touch if anything cool is found. Has to be alot of gold in the park. Found some nice barber quarters, in there, seated half, etc with land machine. Des in Buffalo

Ive been impressed with the Xcals depth .... how does it do once you throw in mineralization? If you dig some silver let us know how it sounded compared to clad and how deep.
