Impressed and dissapointed!

Really impressed with the CTX. Went to the hardest hit park that I know of, it's where I found my first Injun in the early 70's with the Whites Coinmaster 2 and in the same spot that it came from I found the 83 Injun today. ( I think I posted the same thing with the Etrac a few years back.) All the coins where in the 6 to 8 inch range and had the usual nail or bottle cap above or nearby. I can honestly say that none of the coins where the iffy signal type that I've been digging, maybe a little more moisture or I'm learning the machine better. Couldn't squeeze out a silver but like someone said, you can't find if it ain't there. 83 and 91 Injuns, 2-10's, 3-20's, 19S and 41 Wheaties and the Grimland play coin. The dissapointment of the day was the Minelab pinpointer. Ain't worth the powder to blow it up! I could barely feel the vibration of a target. It's a good thing I had the Garrett with me or it would have been a frustrating day to say the least. As for the detector, I'll keep it!

Great finds buddy! We need to get back out again soon.
Im in the same boat with you on the Profind pin pointer.. It's ok, definitely could be better. I had high expectations for this one.. Like I told you on the phone.. I think It goes a little deeper than the Garrett.. But definitely doesn't blow it out if the water.. Ill use it a little longer.. But as right now I'm in favor of the Garrett with its powerful sound and vibration.
Hope to see ya soon!

P.S I said you would change your mind on that detector :)

Today, when I turned on my Pro-Finder, it couldn't have found my truck. Thinking the Sensitivity was turned to minimum, I confirmed it wasn't, then shut it off and turned it back on. Same thing. So I turned it off again, and this time I turned it on with the tip against the Lesche. Turned it off again, turned it back on with the tip out in the open. It worked great the rest of the day. Can't give you any more information about how or why, as I wasn't involved in testing it. But for whatever reason, "detuning" it seemed to improve the performance, just as it does my Garrett Pro Pointer. HH Randy

Another nice report of a hunted out spot!

Too bad on the Pro-Find. I see different measurements. Another guy got nice depth on his like Digger posted. But a few guys are reporting less depth than the Garrett when air testing.

Can anyone here get some air test numbers with .01, .05, .10 & .25 please?

Thx,
Albert

Notice how well it does, also notice at 3 or so minutes it starts getting real sensitive. Also any denomination bill in America is 6 inches long for the nay sayers.................

Randy, while shooting the vid one time the profind hit way past what the other tests did... only thing was when I turned it on it was close to my camera tripod.. I tried to replicate that but couldn't.. so I don't know how it was doing that...

GH..Very good testing.......In the Pro-Finder test video by Jack Flynn, he noted the detectable depth increased after the Pro-Finder was on for 3-4 minutes. Did you notice this with any of your testing.....

No actually I didn't.. I will definitely check that out tomorrow see if I can duplicate that...

I watched about 4 mins.. I wished he would have showed the entire pinpointer... I must have an issue with mine.. seated dime still hitting a little over an inch on the GPP, and a little over an 1 1/2 on the MPF

I noticed in the video, Jack always moved the target horizontally, straight up toward the tip of the Pro-finder. I've noticed a substantial improvement in depth as you moved the probe as you were trying to pinpoint a target. In other words, when you compare the method Jack used, opposed to waving the target back and forth under the tip of the probe. (similar to moving it around in the hole) The more times the probe passed over the coin, the "deeper" it went. Being a VLF Pinpointer (basically a small 12-14kHz coil), I it seems to reason that it would have the same "preference for motion" that a VLF detector has. JMHO HH Randy
