Importing Waypoints?

I am new to the CTX3030 and am curious if a waypoint can be created in the exchange software, imported into the CTX3030, and then have the onboard GPS guide you to that location in the field? Is this possible?

Thanks so much for the info Digger. Just what I was looking for.

45 years ago this Summer, I lost a 1oz gold class ring in a lake. That lake bed is now dry enough to search for it.
Not many discernible land marks out there. My plan is to use the Xchange2 software and Google maps satellite
imagery to place a waypoint about where I think I was when I lost it and use that marker for my search starting point.
