Is it safe to buy a minelab metal detector off of amazon.? I guess what I'm asking is if you would get a true minelab and not a Chinese knock off. I have bought quite a few detectors over the years, usually from a legit dealer or from a well known forum member. I'm looking at the minelab equinox 600, and many dealers are sold out of the 600. I was wondering if any here have bought a detector from Amazon, and if so what are your thoughts. Any feedback would be most appreciated, and A Merry Christmas to all!

I am going to say. NO it's probably a knock off. I would stick to a dealer when buying.

There are plenty of other metal detector shops in the USA. The benefit is the Minelab freebies that are being offered for ordering from an official Minelab dealer. Good Luck and Merry Christmas!

A authorize Minelab dealer has a minimum they can advertise the price for, they will not sell a Minelab knockoff . I think Amazon is a actual Minelab dealer and if they are you can get it fast if they have it in stock. Now We have several dealers right here that are dealers and some are highly recommended by many here and being they sponsor these forums for us it would be nice to buy from them if possible . Now I think you could make a better deal from one of these sponsor dealers too and remember they advertise minimum selling price to be in their contract with Minelab, but what they sell for is up to them. If you do get one from one of our sponsor dealers and have a problem they will be there to help you out if you have a problem. If you need a part they will probably have the part you need or can get it as I am sure many stock some of the extras you may need. These dealers have been good as you will be in the feedback forum and sure they will appreciate the business.

Merry Christmas to all
Rick
