Got an impact as few weeks ago but having been able to get out and try it out much yet. Been using di3 mode mostly. I'm curious about it's static modes and why someone would want to use a non motion mode like that. What would they be good for over the other modes?
I only tried it for a few minutes. According to the manual it seems its best use is for relic/deep cache type hunting. I'm trying to learn all about the modes that operate with the 0-15 scale first. I think I will play with it a little as well as the VLX modes this weekend to familiarize myself with the numbers in the 0-40 scale. I have mostly used DI99 and DI3. Here's a pointer for you. This machine likes SLOW sweeps of the coil. I have been finding that this is where it really shines.
Here is a great video on setting up your Impact for coin shooting in DI3 mode. This shows how to set the tones and tone breaks that work best. I have my DI3 set permanently to this and it works flawlessly....
