Impact features chart

This chart shows what features are available in the 12 programs. Normalization of target ID's has been added also but you access that by pulling the pinpoint trigger and hitting the right arrow..

What are all the modes?
Many are new to me. Any not on the racer 2 and relic I don't know.
Can you explain the modes? I see some have a (d) in them.

Hey Bill, when in all metal, does the target ID screen work? Is it showing ID numbers of the targets being detected? TIA

What are all the modes?

I will give it my best shot at answering. We did not get a manual as it was not written at the time.

There are 12 programs. 8 discrimination programs and 4 all metal. Two of the all metal modes are static, I believe this means you do not have to have coil movement to get an ID. Two of the modes, the STA and the Gen will allow you to use discrimination in the all metal mode the STA(D) and the GEN(D) you cant.. The DI2, 3, 4 and 99 are discrimination programs with 2, 3, 4, and 99 tones. The VLX1 and VLX2 have 3 and 4 tones. I think they are just a milder program. DI4 seems really hot. The COG seems to be vco based audio. I think the manual is about ready so hopefully it will shed some more light.

OK thanks!!!

I guess the ultimate question for Bill: do you see the Impact replacing your Etrac, in terms of coin hunting?

I really admire your videos and your honesty in reviewing detectors, you call em as you see em (you got it wrong on the F70 but then again no one is perfect LOL). I appreciate your credibility.

I got rid of my etac a while back but to be totally honest I do not think the impact would replace the etrac as my main coin hunter. If it had more tone options then maybe it would be in the running. I will say for real trashy parks I think the impact does a better job at picking coins out of the trash than the Etrac. They both have their place but as my main coin hunter I would take an Etrac or CTX. But, I have high hopes that after the smoke settles on the impact maybe we can work with Nokta/Makro on a mid priced detector geared towards coin hunting with most of the features coin hunters want. I would like to see something with modulation, notch discrimination, adjustable tones, something like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 99, selectable tone break points, adjustable tones and the ability to control the volume on the disc out targets and the target zones.

Bill that sounds great!!!
I already own the relic and racer
But would love a more modest priced coin hunter with those features.

One more thing Bill, you have mild soil...mine is heavy mineralized....It must get deeper in bad soil. Also Bill your videos and your honesty are at the top.
