I recently dug this item, it was all smashed and looked like your typical piece of junk - kinda like a pull tab or foil. Things like this I put in my pocket and look at when I get home. More time then, tools to open it, magnifier, etc at home.
Anyway, when I opened it I was surprised to see the 925 stamp ! It's certainly not any great shakes find but it could have been.
So keep some of those questionable things and check them later. I always think - "I can throw it away at home as well". Also, if people are watching you and you are trying to see the item - they will come over and pester you about what you have. steve in so az

A club member keep every thing he digs. I mean everything. Then in the winter he goes through it to check for goodies.
Here's another story about missing goodies..............
Al the detector shop owner in our club has an old drinking water bottle ( 5 gal? ) and anyone can put there Zink pennies or any other coin in it and when its full he tumbles it and rolls it and gives it to a local charity. At the meeting this last week he said every time he tumbles the coins which are dirty he always finds an Indian or two mixed in. Seems people are missing them by not checking them better

Even my cache of pennies that I tumble from time to time produces a wheat once in a while. Steve in so az
