I'm wondering, which one is the deepest seeking detektor TerraX70 or Quattro??

Hi Guys am wondering which one is the deepest seeking detektor TerraX70 or Quattro?? I know you can't compare a Detektor withe a Double-D coil like the quattro and the Terra X70 with a kozentric Coil, therefor i'm still waiting for the Double-D Coil 7,5KHZ(10,5 inch), our soils are mineralised infestet thats why the Quattro will proberbley goes deeper on our soil??? have someone testet both detektors and can tell me which one is the deepest seeking???

thanks, greetings Highlander

Hi Highlander.
The quattro is the deeper seeking detector.
The X-terras are a VLF detector operating one only one frequency at a time. Most VLF detectors will generally operate to about the same depths.
The Quattro on the other hand is an full band spectrum (FBS) detector. It has 28 frequencies, ranging from 1.5kHz to 100kHz.It works by choosing the 3 best frequencies at a time, for the ground that the coil is passing over and these three frequencies will give you both the best depth and also more information for the computer to figure out if your target is junk or a good target.I'm not sure of what other factors are in this equation, but the bottom line is that the quattro is one of the deepest seeking coin machines on the market at the moment(given that the coil sizes are equal). There is also a good range of after market coils available for it as well if depth is what you are after. On the down side, they are heavy you do need to swing them fairly slowly(also the slowest swinging detectors around) and you'll need to use them in the all metal mode to get the best from them.
I hope this helps,
Mick Evans.

Hi Mick thanks for your info, but are you realy sure? i mean there ar some Detektors like the white's MXT who are going realy deep, i would say what coins concern as deep as a Explorer(i had the MXT and the Explorer) i do agree that the explorer regognize the Objeksts a little bit better than the MXT.My uppinion is it isn't nessesarily so that for example a detektor with BBS technik goes deeper than a single Freq. detektor?!
That means that theoratical the TerraX70 could go as deep as the Explorer, i realy want to see what the Terra X70 does in combination with a Double-D 10,5inch(7,5 KHZ) against the Quattro or the Explorer???
Perhabs someone has the terra X70 in combination with the Double-D 10,5inch Coil and a Quattro or Explorer and could make a test??????????

with friendley greetings Highlander

The quattro is the deeper seeking detector.

Is this opinion based on actual tests of the 2 detectors?

I can't say much regarding the Quattro, but I've had 2 Sov's and an Excalibur and, doing in-ground depth tests, found them to be no deeper than my other single frequency VLF's, regardless of coil size. The ground here is heavily mineralised.. extreme in places. The X70, in disc. mode, seems to be about as deep as any VLF detector I've used here. Where it shines is in AM mode; unreal depth. Willy.

Based on what I've constantly read about by those that use it and compare them to VLF detectors.I almost mentioned the Whites MXT, but re framed as the question was only about the X-Terra and the Quattro. The other stand out machine is the Musky, operating at 5kHz.But I'll let Digger comment on that one as he is the resident expert on this machine!
If you already have an explorer then you have a good bench mark as to how the Quattro will perform. As I understand it,the Quattro was produced as an easier to use machine, but it has slightly more modern technology in it given that it was developed after the ExII.
