I'm sure you have all seen or heard of these new, intrusive X-ray scanners they're using at some airports that are able to see through clothes....

and reveal any weapons, bombs, or other hidden items. Apparently, this technology is so advanced, that it shows a great deal of the person's body being x-rayed (see airport x-ray below~ some parts have been blurred). The new systems are using what they call "backscatter" technology. I can't wait until the new metal detectors comes out using this latest technology. I always thought it would be neat to be able to look at a screen on your detector, and not only "hear" that something is in the ground, but "see" an actual image of it as well. Of course the image wouldn't be crystal clear, it would look more like good an x-ray of something in the ground. The technology is there today to do this... the problem is the detector would cost $79,000, each... and that's with the $50 rebate..

Well seems as though very simular technology already existed in the M.D. field,, just go to www.kellyco.com and look at the professional commercial equipment with the video ground scan units ,,good down to 27 meters......But as you stated VERY $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
