I'm not an at pro owner, But

2 Much Trash

Well-known member
There's some relic hunting videos out there with some guys using a high dollar top of the line detector and other guys using the AT Pro. Not that it's not top of the line, but it's not what you call high dollar. At the end of the videos the guy, or guys, with the AT Pro come out on top. What am I missing here. Can any of you relic hunters shed some light?

You might be missing buttons, lead, buckles, belt plates, old coins and jewelry and just a lot of fun. After using some top of the line detectors myself, I finally had to try an A T Pro to see what they were all about. It has a quick target response and is very good in iron and trash infested sites. It has very nice depth, penny and dime size targets down to 9" that I have dug and probably on a good day a little more. It will certainly nail a breast plate that deep and more. It has a nice tight target id and great tones and its as close to a turn on and hunt detector as you can get. Mine stays in pro zero, so I just turn it on, g b and hunt. Give one a months try. That's what I did almost two years ago now and I haven't put it down much since. HH jim tn

The AT pro is a fun productive machine I've found a lot of gold rings with mine. It stays in pro mode for me also.

It's a top of the heap metal detector, with a medium of the heap price with one of the best customer support companies.

Interesting...yes, we all took a great deal of time watching the Pro when it first came out, and then, we just had get one to see...the finds the early adopters and long time detectorists got really pushed us over the edge..

Mine also stays in Pro zero, ...paid for itself right out of the box and continues to do so...it hits gold hard, and thats what I use it for..the other guys that hunt with it for dirt coins and relics seem to be very happy with it as you are seeing...It truly is an 'all terrain' powerful rig, priced right, lots of capability for aftermarket phones and coils ..

I'd have to buy another if something happened to my main, even at twice the price, hell, even at 3X.

I got an AT pro then sold it then got an etrac then I sold it because the ATpro was easy to use and I found just as much with it.

I have a couple high dollar detector and my AT PRO. I use the PRO most of the time now. After going back to places I have pounded with my other detectors the Pro was finding relics sitting on top and under iron. The Pro can pick through the iron unbelievable.

I noticed the same thing. That's why I went with the AT Pro when I upgraded. I have no regrets. With that being said, I would really like to get an Etrac or maybe a Deus someday. Not to replace the ATP but to compliment it. I do believe that in most conditions that the ATP can compete with the high $ machines IF the person operating the Pro is proficient at using it.

I use the AT-Gold and I love it! I use to buy and trade detectors a lot and it would get on my wife's nerves I'd do it so much with the cost of shipping and all. I told her I am wanting to find the detector that fits me and my style of hunting which is hunting for relics and coins in thick iron. And the AT Gold does it perfectly its been almost two years now that I've been using it. This past weekend my wife said I guess you finally found the right detector for yourself didn't you? I replied what do you mean? She said the post office is shutting down near our house due to losing my business of shipping detectors out every other week! I told her I am very happy with my detector and I couldn't imagine going detecting without it. And yes I've used the 800-1200 dollar machines this AT Gold spanked them for my type of hunting.

Thanks Morgan. I've been following your posts for several years on several forums. Now I know why they've slowed down. you've been busy with the at gold
