I'm Moving to Northern California....WooHoo!

Hey All,

Well I've been planning and prepairing my trip to California for a while now. Since my Cancer is almost gone and am feeling much better I thought I would make a big change in my life. I've been fighting cancer for 6-7 years now and finally am able to move on and do something else.

So I sold much of my Business, sold my furnature and most everything else that I didnt want to store or take with me.

I bought a 4" Keene Gold Dredge, a 5x8 enclosed trailer, and a camper top for my truck, a brand new Apple Macbook laptop and I'll be on my way to Northern California. I joined a Gold mining club that has 60+ miles of Gold mining claims that I will camp and live on until it gets cold in October then I will get a place for Winter. I will dredge my butt off until then and use my GTI 2500 to look for nuggets and placer deposits.

I will also get an Infinium when I get there. I was going to order it this week but since I'm leaving next weekend (17th) Im not sure it will get here in time. So I will get a P.O box and get Garrett to ship it to me. Since I'm a Garrett Dealer now my price for the Infinium is ~~~~~ ha, well its good let me tell ya.

Im so excited Im gonna POP or EXPLODE untill I get there. The town I will be based in is called Happy Camp, California and I will be 40 miles from S. Oregon. (come visit me Bill, we shall hunt for some nugs!)

Anyhow I thought I would tell the wonderful people on these Garrett forums about this because you guys are great and I hope to show you some great Garrett finds from California.

Pic below is from the Claims on the Klamath River.

Soon to be California

Sweet. If I ever get up that way I'll look you up.

After prospecting in Ga. you'll make a killing in Ca. You had to work hard to find gold in Ga. In Ca. you will think the gold is jumping in your pan.

The guy that owns all that, Dave McCracken, used to publish the Gold & Treasure Hunter magazine that I was field test editor for.some time back. The editor and me were good friends but she died of cancer about a year ago. You'll enjoy that gig as Dave has some nice claims. I always wanted to get down there but with my wife a bed-ridden quadriplegic it just ain't going to happen. Keep us all posted.

Good luck with the move. It's great you're doing well with the cancer battle. I lost a daughter last year after a 3 1/2 year battle. It teaches you to live your dreams every day as you never know when they can get cut short. Always eat dessert first, you never know what's going to happen.

Good luck with the move. I tried to do the same thing about 18 months ago, but cost and a bit of dissension in the ranks held me back. It would have been heaps better for detecting.
I'm glad to hear that you beat the cancer. It would have tested your mettle.

Was that the mysterious Infinium Lady I have heard about?

By the way, I didnt know you knew of Dave McCraken. Yes that is the mining group I am a member of, seems to be a great group.

I just saw on my bank statement that the California Fish and Game has recieved my money for my California Dredge License and I should have it before I get there. So everything is falling into place fairly well. Just need to get my butt out there. I Have a few things planned along the way after I get to Colorado. And will probally camp at Rye Patch Nevada as I progress toward Cali. Wish I had an Infinium for tht place but will try my GTI 2500 there. Thanks again for the pics....man that would be great to find big ones like that!!

Pic of detecting on the Claims....

Yeah those nuggets were found on the banks of the Yuba River down by Yuba City/Marysville. You should do okay on Dave's diggins. The state tried to take it all away from him years ago They even planted a stooge at Happy Camp to spy and provide false and criminal information, then later he mysteriously kicked the bucket, about the time he would have been called to court to testify in the trial. Damned near busted Dave fighting them. It cost him the Gold & Treasure magazine and a big bundle of bucks. Hope you enjoy yourself there. You'll be in gold country.

Best of Luck. California is the most beautiful state of them all. You'll be close to snow, lakes, rivers, ocean and best of all GOLD!!! You will have the time of your life, and as we all know it's never too late to have the time's of your long and happy life. Enjoy.

Alan. I hope you strike it rich out there or at least strike it a little. Please keep us up to date on how you're doing and if you could include a nice photo (without giving away your site) of some of your finds (GOLD) every once in a while all the better.

You will be living out one of my personal fantasies and I wish you lots of luck, good health, and happiness.

Chris
