Hi,

I've only gone to the beach twice with my ace250.. I haven't had any success. I live in florida.
Please leave your tips and advice thank you.

If you haven't found anything, it's probably because there was nothing in the
ground where you were at.
Try to hit places where a lot of people hang out, play, etc.. Real early in the AM
is usually the best time.
Myself, I would crank the sens up fairly high. I set them right below the point
of falsing. If you get excess chatter, crank it down a bit. I let the ground tell me
how hot to run..

When you swing, keep the coil at the same height above the ground through
the whole stroke, like a windshield wiper. Not like a pendulum where the end
of the swings end up higher off the ground.
I imagine where you hunt is more important than how.. :detecting:
If there is nothing in the ground where you are at, nothing is going to be found
no matter what you do. So I'd go where the people hang out the most.

Sorry to say large coils do cover a lot more ground and go deeper but if its a saltwater beach smaller coils work better especially in the wet sand. If its a freshwater beach you should do well but dig all as gold rings and chains run the full spectrum of the meter...

Hi all! Just got my Ace 350 and am planning to go in the fresh water beach area with my waders since the water is very cold and the ice on Lake Michigan has just thawed. Hope to start of f at about 3 to 4 feet and work my way inward. Any Suggestions? New at this Forum
