I'm Kicking Myself In the Butt !!!

I live in Arizona. My wife has been in Idaho for several months helping her daughter through some problems. I took 10 days off work and flew up to see the wife. She told me there was still quite a lot of snow on the ground, so I didn't bring my detector ( I also didn't want to check any luggage ). Well there are many areas now without snow. I would have had the chance to detect several ranches with old cabins on them from the late 1800's. They are all private property and have never been detected before. The are many old property's and parks that I could have detected. I'm just about sick. I know darn well I could be returning home with some great finds. It's so bad that I have spent a couple of hours looking at the surface of the ground where parking lots have been plowed and the snow plow piles have melted, just hoping to find something of value. The only thing I came away with is some clad coins. I now know how a junkie feels. I'm having the worst detector withdrawal's. I will return and come heck or high water, I'll have my detector next time.

Good hunting, John K

Where in Idaho? HH Dennis in Idaho

Driggs, Idaho, right at the Teton Mountains. Lots of old places here to detect. I lived up here for 6 years and was the local gunsmith, so I know quite a few people around the valley. Getting permission to detect would not be a big problem. A lot of these old ranchers up here are very suspicious of anyone they don't know.
