I'm just wondering....

can I by-pass the broken "disc/all metal" switch on my Musketeer Colt so that it just stays on "disc"?
The switch is busted and stuck in "all metal" right now which doesn't go as deep as "disc"
I want to get on the "Water Hunt" band wagon too, and think the Muskie would be a great machine for this. Can I just clip and splice a couple of wires together?
I bet I wouldn't have to but a sock on that double "D" coil!

is what a pro would tell me. I just opened up the Muskie and there's a lot more to that switch then I thought there would be. So, off to the repair shop for her. Dang!

I just had to send my Sov Elite in for repair for the same exact reason. Wish Minelab would start spending some money on decent switches and knobs. These are headaches you don't need with expensive detectors.

,Was it a non-warrenty repair by any chance?
I'm wondering how much a new switch would cost to be replaced.
