I really am impressed with the Explorer II. If Minelab could have understood the meaning and purpose of a no-motion pinpoint mode this could have been the perfect metal detector for me. Alas, without a working pinpoint it cannot have that distinction but I am impressed nontheless.
The little 7" coil is impressive in stability and depth. I am truly impressed with the air tests. At the extreme edge of detection around 10" where the audio response is barely recognizable the Explorer still gives a proper id. I've got to find some ground with targets that deep
The notch discrimination is the best. That is the main reason I got one and I really really like this feature. You can't imagine how much fun I have with the 12 patterns I can mix and match and edit on the fly. This 2D discrimination is just over the top
Well....that was my rave. I wish I could breed the T2 and the Explorer II together and get the best of both. I'd call it the [size=x-large]E[/size][size=x-large]xplo[/size][size=x-large]T[/size][size=x-large]er[/size]
