I'm guilty! Just acquired my 30th detector. The 705 is still my fav.

Just a mad mad obsession! Freedom 3 was my first. My, how technology has changed since the mid 80's!!!! However, the abilities of detectors have not changed with the exception of depth and discrimination. Until technology comes up with a way of telling the difference between aluminum and gold, not much will change. If that occurs - GAME OVER!!

Bulletman

I don't have that many but I totally agree on the 1.66 a day.

I’ve owned a lot of detectors through the years. Garrett, White’s, Fisher, Tesoro, etc. But since 1999 when I purchased my first Minelab FBS detector, I still can’t move on from Minelab.
Just purchased the Xterra 705 and can’t wait to find out its capabilities.

My main detector is the 705. I do get caught up in all the hype when new detectors are released.(But mainly in winter when bored) This 705 with 4 coils and 2 rods is the real deal .

So true but thankfully we have 50c, $1 and $2 coins here in Australia. A few of those and you have yourself a coffee and/or breakfast :clapping:

 The reason that you need those larger denomination coins is because everything in Australia costs more than in the States. Four of our 25¢ coins will get you a cup of coffee here.

I'm 56yrs old, have 3 machines: x30, x70 and x705. Think I'm done buying. Very happy with my machines and coils and what I have found with them all. Only thing I will be purchasing very soon will be the 15 inch 3kHz coil. I was one never to get caught up in the hype of new products, especially when the one I own does a fantastic job. Geeze, I still use a flip style cell phone! Lol. If it ain't broke, don't buy a new one! Happy Hunting All!

How great is it that we are all different and some way more different! Is that Paul's collection? I am comfortable with a dozen or so detectors and probably will only get 3 or 4 in the next year or so. I don't mind picking up what the old detectors miss.

I'm guilty of having had or have 17 several of which you have. The XTERRA's 50 & 705, GTAx 1250, Ace 250 and the Vaquero. Of that group I really like the XTERRA's.
