... anyone tell me about this machine? The good, the bad, the ugly/ Thanks.

I use the HH PI. It works pretty good. Why dont you try asking on the Head Hunter forum. More people might respond. http://www.findmall.com/list.php?11

The older models are still on the market and the headset wire has a tendency to break. I had a HeadHunter by DetectorPro and that is exactly what happened. As far as their machines, they are very good PI's The new Wader has discrimination, is well balanced, lightweight, and a small coil. I got the new model and if it ever stops raining and warms up here in New England, I will get to use it!!

My first MD'er mwas a HeadHunter. I had some very good luck with it. My beaches are full of trash and I mean FULL! It got too frustrating to use the HH so I changed to another machine. I stil think it is a great machine for the money.

Down by you I would do one of 2 things.Set disc. at 3 and sense at 9 if setting it at 10 gives any chatter or 0 disc and it then acts alot like the cz20 in auto tune as far as expanded coverage.I've found a few things with it  you can swing all day and never get tired.

.... and have been very pleased with it, just seems time to try something different.

... those pesky pieces of crab trap wire, small nails, etc.

If the beaches that you hunt are fairly clean, and I suspect that they will be cleaner than the ones here, you will like the Wader. I do miss how light the unit was and battery life is good. About 50 hours on a pair of Duracells.

Keep a log of your finds and of the hours so you know when you need to change them. When they go, they go quick.

Good luck!
