I'm getting the Sovereign GT!

I decided to go for it! What the heck! You only live once!
I'm gonna master that thing and start walking away from those old parks with a Indian Head or maybe a Merc or two! Who knows! Maybe one of those walking Liberty things I hear about every now and then.
I'm pretty excited about it too.
I will miss that Ace 250* that I traded for it though.
So what accessory should I get first? The meter or the smaller 8" coil?

* Silly me. I meant the Lobo ST. Who in there right mind would trade a sovereign gt for a Ace 250???

I was looking around some sites for prices on meters and every now and then this "180 Mod" subject would come up. Whats that all about?

Minelab meters made before the new "Digisearch" meter that recently came out were scaled to read from 0-550 for non-ferrous metals. Most did not like them this way, so rescaled them down to 0-180.

but in reality over time you may use it less and less , the hot ticket in my opinion would be to cop yourself an S-1 probe made by ""SUNRAY"", that to me is just a must have item . The meter is a great item as well ,but in the long run to me the probe is a must have, where someone could definately get by without a meter . ANd the 180 mod you made mention of , it is a modifacation that is done to the ''older style'' minelab meters .The old meters were set to a 550 scale and so many have opted to change that to a 180 reading , and many feel it stabilizes the meter and makes it ''less jumpy'' . It entails changing a couple resistors inside the meter . The meter you are after is already set to the 180 scale and it is called the digisearch meter that is what you need for the Gt. So get a meter and start looking at the s-1 probe its a tad pricey but sometimes the come up used ....Good luck ..........
