I've always liked that detector and after some recent conversations where I discused it, I decided to start watching for another one to come up for sale.

Well....one did. I said I wanted it.

Now I gotta pay for it somehow :stars:

And then sneak it in the house :stars:

Ahhh, the fun of detector obsessions.....

I have same problem

Maybe time to move ?:rage: with detectors

congrats!!!! I've had one for 22yrs and it's a coin shootin sob!!!!!! Unfortunately not much depth but that is the ONLY drawback.

Thats the model tesoro should have made into a Umax size/weight!
The adjustable tone break on that is all you need for some serious jewelry hunting:thumbup:
Congrats and good hunting with it!

Tabman,
I sold the Golden uMax to buy the CZ 5. It was a old tone model anyway, and the new tone model ruined me on the old tone model so it wasn't hard to part with it.

The GSII will be it's replacement.

Mike I really enjoyed reading your stuff about the Golden

Ah yes, the problem of discretion and secrecy. It helps when they have a similar appearance!

My wife asked me, "just how many detectors do you need?" I told her that I really need twice as many as I have, but I'll make do with what I got. :)

I agree lt makes more sense to be able to move the notch window up and down to where you need it instead of making the notch window wider or narrower.I have been using a golden umax since they came out but sill prefer my 20 plus year old golden saber II for rings in high trash areas

Used just about every Tesoro model ever made and a lot of competitors models and the GS 11 and Pantera are certainly the best gold ring units around once you learn the notch and tones. Actually chest mount them and probably the best fresh water units around especially the micro jewelry...

Indeed the golden saber is a ring killer. My old dealer wore a huge gold ropechain and crucifix he found with his on the beach. I'd gladly have no problem with grabbing one up. Only thing I'd do is try and slip on a 9x8 coil.
