I'm curious about...........

The MXT is the best machine, in my opinion, out there, and I seldom hear anything going wrong
with them. I bought mine used, so I don't know HOW the previous used it, if he abused it or what.
Twice my LCD went out on me and the graphics changed into some aliend looking script. Its
on its way to Whites now to be fixed.

My question: of all the MXT owners out there, when if ever have you had anything go wrong with
your MXT. What kind of problems were they, if any.

If I have problems with mine again I'm going to just chuck it and buy a new MXT.
No more used machines!

Katz, I had my 8 year old MXT in the shop last winter for a physical. The only thing wrong was the earphone jack was loose and needed replaced. To my surprise, that was the only thing wrong. I would hate to guess how many hours I've got on that machine. There's been many days where Larry and I have hunted for 12 hours at a time, only stopping for a picnic lunch break, etc. Boy those were fun days! I've not heard of many MXT's going bad. They're one tough machine. Hopefully White's can fix it and you'll not have any more problems with it. Good luck and keep us posted, Nancy

Some MXT had a connector that needed to be reseated. In any case, when the detector comes back from Whites it will perform like new. If you chuck it send it to me. :clapping: It will be fine. Rob

I remember when I first got mine (several yrs ago) the screen went totally blank a few times and several others on the forum reported the same thing happening to theirs. However, mine would just come back to life and it quit doing that and I have never had any more problems. White's will fix it if it can be fixed!!!! I've never needed their service but from everything I hear they are GREAT!

I've had mine since two weeks after they went on sale. my screen went blank twice, after turning it off and back on again it never gave me anymore trouble. I've had to repair my earphone jack, and replace the plastic screen lens. My only question is ...Why don't they put a metal earphone jack in it ?:detecting:

Don't worry about your used MXT being abused. The only way you could abuse it would be to completely destroy it. I've seen them go completely dead after being used in the rain and then dry out and return to use within hours. I think your problem may just be a loose connector. You may have a board failure in the display pod but I can tell you that would be rare. White's will give it a full rectal exam and I guarantee you that when you get it back from the factory it will be like brand new.
