im buying a mxt pro ? on coils

what coil is good or better Im looking at the 6X8 SEF coil and the 6X10 Eclipse coil all i look for is old coins in parks and around houses
the detector im looking at has the 950 eclipse coil

Both are good coils.I used the 6x8 sef on mine and found it to be very good......you won't be disappointed with either.

"I have 2 SEF coils and have no problems. Both are used on the MXT. I find that they work really well in minerized soil and also pin point with no problem. ... also on the air test I'm getting about 2 inches of depth if not more over the 6x10 DD..... I may also ad that theres much more separation between targets than using the 6X10. Whites coils are as follow. 4x6 6x10 D2 and the spider coil.... all good coils.... However ? There have been areas that I have hunted dozens of times in the past with all of the above coils... Upon returning to one of this areas and using the 6x8 SEF I found 6 wheat's, 1 Rosie, 1 barber, one set of earrings, one silver ring..... again this area was hunted by me countless times..... Go figure?? I have also hunted other areas that I have hunted and have had the same results. Please note that I hunted theses areas when its dry wet etc. Say what you want but I'm out to find stuff and not to be close mined over what brand to use."

There are other testimonials on that thread for both coils. All I can attest to is that Whites stand behind their coils(6x10) and if you ever have trouble with it they will make sure you remain a happy customer. I find it hard to believe the 6x8SEF has a 2 inch advantage over the 6x10, but I havn't tried an SEF coil. I am not surprised about his experience with finding more targets in a cleaned out area as I have been astounded by the same experience by simply switching coils. That same scenario could very well be replicated by switching to another, non-SEF coil. Every coil has weaknesses that another will have strengths.
All of my coils are Whites, my next coil may be an SEF if I can get one cheap enough(they're pricey).

thank you all for your input on the coils because I never used a mxt so I did not know if the coil was good on the mxt also

They are made for different makes/models as well, so if you buy one make sure it is made for the MXT.
