I'm bummed I couldn't go on the forum hunt...

Hope you all had a great time in the Lord -- fellowshipping and breaking bread. From the posts I've read it must have been wonderful -- and the finds were just frosting on the cake. Maybe when I retire and have more vacation time...

So I stayed home and found a SMALL neighborhood park that has not be hit for many a moon -- if at all. In a size of about 40x60 it took 2 hours to dig out 35 coins and about 60 pieces of trash. I though I'd get done by dark, but I'll finish another day. But I've learned something on my Bounty Hunter -- forget the discrimination and just go for a hit and dig it! I see that I've been missing too much. Now I'm going back to the places I've already hit, because I'm getting MORE hits and SMALLER finds!

Here's just some of the small unusual finds...

Here the small stuff next to a dime for comparison. Top row is car wheels, second row (l to r) is corroded tack, the end stop for a bike brake cable, and the eyelet from a child's tennis shoe.

Maybe next year! We would love to have ya! I am pretty sure those items on the top row are the thumb wheels for lighters.

Mike, Thanks for the info. You are right on the top two on the right -- lighter thumb wheels. The one on the left is a single wheel half the size with two axles proturding -- looks to be the nose wheel of a metal (Matchbox series?) jet plane. But I'm just excited that I now can dig items that small!

Keep on digging that little stuff. There are many little gold ear rings waiting to be found! :)
