I'm glad you had a safe trip and it looks like you got some digging time in also. That's a bunch of coins, did you get it all on the beach?
When I was on a business trip to Charleston I went down to the shipyard where the Hunley is being cleaned and got to go in and see it in the tank where they are rinsing the saltwater out of it. They had the gold coin that the captain, I can't remember his name, had in his pocket when he was shot in a battle and it saved his life. It was on display and guarded. I think the impact still broke his hip, I can't remember all the details, but it was a cool story. I bought a reproduction of it for Brian and it is his favorite coin.

I didn't go to DIV. I went to the North South Hunt. Had a great time, and found some CW relics as usual! I will bring them to the club meeting, along with your surprise!
