I'm Back - Scoop Question

Beach and Surf Hunters,

It has been a long time since I have posted on the forum! Looking forward to a good season ahead. We didn't have any major (significant) Nor'Easters off of Jersey this year, so nothing new to report. Just some clad, weights, etc.

I am in the process of building a new scoop. What thickness stainless steel (sheet) is recommended to begin making the scoop? I want something durable that can go through pebbles/rocks and will not bend.

I built this scoop out of 14 ga 304 2b and have had no problems with it at all. Hope this helps.

Just like the one I got from you kaptain..

Waiting for the ice to get off the lake and warm up a little before I get to use it. Going to add a "doughnut" magnet inside to catch the iron trash.
