Me, the perky Nancy, and my 9 year old grand daughter Caitlyn went on a 3 day cruise from Miami to Nassau and back. Caitlyn wanted to feed and kiss a dolphin and I wanted to sharpen my 3 card poker skills.
Obama was visiting Fort Myers on a campaign stop and a private fund raiser lunch at $1,000 per person. I thought we were going to avoid the closed roads by taking a different "out of the way" route to get to I-75 .... to find that they had I-75 south closed off for a couple hours from north of Fort Myers to south of Fort Myers. Our Obama detour added another hour to our trip and no doubt caused quite a few folks to miss work, appointments, airline flights, etc.... not to mention the wide spread business interruption.
As we were leaving the Port of Miami, this Coast Guard harbor patrol boat guarded us (NCL Sky) out of the port. Yes that is a machine gun on the bow, loaded and ready to fire.

We had a lot of fun. Left Miami Friday at 5:00 PM. Arrived at NCL's private island, Stirrup Cay Saturday at about 7:00 AM. Left Stirrup Cay about 5:00 PM and arrived in Nassau Sunday morning at 8:00 AM. Left Nassau at 5:00 PM and arrived back in Miami at 8:00 AM Monday. Food was excellent and the service was excellent on the ship.
I'll post photos of the perky Nancy and Caitlyn kissing a dolphin in a few days. I told Caitlyn that if cooked right, dolphins taste like chicken! She looked horrified and did not appreciate my dolphin humor at all until she finally realized I was kidding with her. She had chicken fingers that night and I asked her if they tasted like dolphin.
As for my 3 card poker skills ...... awh, lets just say that I'll own the NCL Sky in one more payment.
