I left the ranks of the Explorer users by selling my Explorer 2. Planning to retire from detecting altogether and take up bicycling more seriously. HA!!
I Kept checking out and reading detecting forums and ignoring the bicycle forms. Kept scanning the classified forum, eBay and craigslist...not just for bikes.but also Metal detectors.
Still thinking I wanted a new highend bicycle I saw my funds from the Explorer's sale slowly dwindle down.....I needed to do something before the funds
disappeared all together. Grabbing my trusty Ace 250 I went to a local park for a fix. Found a gold plated ring.......Next day jumped on my current bicycle
for a nice morning ride. Rode about a hundred yards and then turned around and headed home. You guessed it. Parked the bike and grabbed the Ace for another hunt.
Found another gold plated ring that day. So...I decided to get another detector. But @#%&!! now my son needs two new tires on his car. Tread separation and he's broke.
Enough! I have to act fast! I wanted another Tesoro ever since i bought the Explorer.....(Deeeeep seeker but man was she heavy!) New was out of the question!
Need a unit with GB capabilities. ( I strongly believe a machine performs better with GB capabities.) Finally found a old Bandido ll uMax on eBay....Won it, for way too
much if you ask me but it's what I wanted in a detector. Light....GB'able....and a lifetime warranty. This will be my third Tesoro for me during my Metal Detecting
Career. My first was a Toltec 100....then a lobo ST...and now the Bandido....
Over the years i evolved into a all metal, the meters wrong kinda guy..dig it all. But I did develop a bad habit with the Explorer. I only dug one kind of signal.
The high fluty weaker tones. I found lots of silver this way but never any gold. So I think I have enough silver coinage now. Time to work on the gold
collection....So look for those Dang posts again. That's after my Bandido arrives!
