IH with two eyes???

I got to looking at this IH and it is probably just an old scrape but the more I look the more it looks like another eye. It sort of looks like something got punched in there. What do you think damage or mint error? It is hard to get scanned in clearly.

Thanks and HH - BF

Judging by the erosion of the edges even if it was a mint error its value would be diminished. In any case nice find and good conversation piece....

It sure looks like it to me, but I would have to say it's just a scratch of some sort, because given the distance between the main eye and what looks like the second one, if the obverse die had actually moved enough to double that, I think it would have produced very noticeable doubling of most of the other features on the obverse.

n/t

I just do not see an exact outline match when blowing up photo to 400%, also, to get a double eye, would be like Chris said, a double die strike and other parts would also have been struck and they are not.
So, I will go on record, LOL, as saying it is not a mint error, double eyed IH.

It's possible but you would think there would be other doubling on the coin also. I don't think I've ever seen a listing for a two eye coin, two sets of lips...but no two eyes.
