IH park again - no community SWAT team but older silver !

Sun I went back to IH park for the first time since I ran into the "community vigilane lady" last month. No sign of her but a police car cruised through the park while I was there. They kinda just checked me out as they passed and I nodded to them to let them know I was aware of them passing.
Fri I went back to the house where I found the seated dime last week - no coins this time but a nice large flat button and a few old "suspender" type stuff.
My finds at IH park this time:
7 wheats incl 1914, 1916, 1919
4 IH 1893, 1894, 1902, 1905
a 3-cent silver 1853. It looked great against the dark soil - so tiny but bright. I actually found it the middle of a hard-packed walking/jogging path just inside the perimiter of the park. Thanks for sharing.

Elton - as I recall it was hitting in the upper right just below the top (smart screen) - nice high pitch.

Beautiful!! I have the III Center on my wish list!!

Nice finds! A silver 3 cent piece is really tough. I found one two years ago only because it was near a hole that had a much of wheaties in it and I though I heard a nickel (or foil) when I scanned the hole and it turned out to be the 3 center. I would never have dug it otherwise. Yours is a super find and I hope you can continue to detect that park. HH

Nice 3-cent piece. Sheesk you east coast guys have some great old park turf!! I guess the only consolation we have here on the west coast, is better odds at the S mint marks :)

As for the nosy-parker lady, your situation bears a great truth: The best thing to do in cases like these, is to avoid *just* the one busy body (gardner, neighbor, cop, or whomever it might be). Lay low and let the thing be forgotten, and just return "off their shift" in the future. Because otherwise what happens when you/we try to go to city hall and "get it in writing" or "prove that cop or busy-body wrong", is that you end up getting higher-up "no's" instead :(

There's probably been a lot of situations like yours, where someone slinks away with their tail between their legs, and then goes to "rally solidarity" and such, netting MORE un-wanted scrutiny. But like your case shows, often time "discretion" is the key, and not thinking we should be allowed wearing neon orange at high noon on any day we desire! I even knew a guy who spread the word to others in a club, that "such & such city's schools were off-limits". Years later, when I asked "who told you that?" (because everyone he'd spread the word to, just took it at face value), he told me "because a janitor came out and told me" Doh! Funny thing was, beginners who heard this md'r pass out the warning, just believed it (afterall, who would they be to question such a thing?). But as your case shows, sometimes people just have too much time on their hand, and want to make sure others don't have fun. The solution is often times just to avoid *just* those individuals, not go grovelling at city hall.

Your the Man WTG , I wana do that. Mickfin????????????
