Iffy signal...Maybe Iron but maybe...

I have a site I hit regularly. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten one direction signals
(10%-50% of the circle around the target) then I dig it and it is a wheat pennie or silver coin. I know there is lots of iron and junk in the ground.
How often do you guys dig these signals? Most sites don't fair as well with these signals but this one has so many wheat pennies in the ground I can always count on some of the iffy signals being a coin.

I dig everything that repeats solid even if only from one direction.. I find that even if it sounds alot like iron, that a good target in iron will still hit more solid, that is to say not try to mask as much,, Of course most of my sites only have iron left, so I gotta dig something <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)"> Seriously though the audio quality is just better on those type hits when its a good target hiding in the iron

I agree all the way. Today I had some iffy signals where there was lots of iron present and on three different hits they all came up wheat pennies. Nothing to old 40's and 50's but none the less coins. I'm just learning the machine only 4th time out and I dug mainly as a training session to my ear and machine and they came up coins.

On those targets which only repeat from one direction, when they hit solid and really sound like a coin they have been coins most of the time. I'd say about 60/40 wheats to silver. Oddly when swept at 90 degrees even the silver sounds like iron though you sometimes get a ring or two, wheats and ih's seem notorious for sounding just like iron.
Now when the good direction is iffy and sounds like iron falsing and the bad direction is solid iron, it's been iron about 95% of the time.
I dug a silver quarter recently that stunk from 90 degrees but was a solid hit from the good side.
