Many thanks in advance,

Bowie,
I had trouble with my XLPRO when I 1st got it! I just couldn't understand the instruction book(Brain Damage ). Just had too much in it, to make any sence to me!
I just started out by using the preset diamonds on the knobs. Ground Balance by holding the detector waist high push switch to AIR listen for a ping sound. Then lower coil to ground, push switch to GND and listen for another ping. Leave switch in this position. Throw some coins on the ground. Run your coil over them and listen to the clean sound it make and observe the readings. Next to get the depth. Lift your coil up about 7-8" off the Ground, over the coins and adjust the Signal Balance for best depth. When you do this you'll see what I mean! Then start detecting, you'll soon get the hang of it!
I use my XLPRO over my DFX & MXT .
One other thing I could suggest is to dig everythiing until you start to understand what the detector is telling you! Then Play with the other settings when your confidents grows! Merry Christmas!

P.S. I tried to drop you a P.M. but it would go thru!
Quick question team. I just received my first XL PRO and have a quick question concerning ground balance. When you flip your switch to "air" is the ping tone that you mention immediate? It takes just a second or two for it to "ping" when on the ground, but not in the air on mine.
Thanks,
Hiya Megadiver,
I switch to GEB Norm, raise coil couple feet off ground and air balance, the tone is immediate. Then lower to ground and pull switch back for ground balance, there is a delay before this tone is activated.
